As a core member of the Bethesda Softworks QA team for DOOM, I spent countless hours testing the game. This was my first professional game, and I could not be happier with how it turned out. The game has won numerous awards across many platforms. It was amazing to see the amount of work we put in pay off in a big way. The developers at id Softworks really poured their hearts out on this one, and it was well received by so many fans.
DOOM has very high Metacritic scores, ranging from 85 on PS4 and XB1 to an 87 on PC. The game also took home two awards at The Game Awards 2016. It won both Best Action Game and Best Music/ Sound Design. These are only a few of the numerous accolades the title has received since it launched in May of 2016.
This game was huge for me personally. It served as a bit of a trial run. I learned what it means to develop AAA games: tireless hours, long nights, and maximum effort always. The experience only cemented my future career goals, and I realized that this was most definitely the right path for me.
